The return of spring: outdoor activities around Paris 15

Categories : Discover Paris, published on : 3/2/25

Spring is back, bringing with it the irresistible urge to breathe in the fresh air, relax on a terrace, admire the cherry blossoms, and rediscover Paris in a whole new light. Starting in March, the French capital takes on soft pastel tones, the sunny days return shyly, and there’s a unique energy in the air that invites you to go out, explore, and enjoy.

Located just steps from the Eiffel Tower, in the chic 15th arrondissement, Hôtel Bleu de Grenelle becomes the perfect starting point for a springtime itinerary. Whether you’re traveling as a couple, solo, or with family during the spring holidays, here is a complete guide to the best spring activities in Paris, with a special focus on the 15th arrondissement.

Spring in the 15th arrondissement: an open-air district

Blossoming walks through the parks of Paris 15

Spring is the perfect season to (re)discover the beautiful parks and green spaces of the 15th arrondissement. Start with Square Saint-Lambert, a peaceful haven lined with magnolias, a favorite spot for flower lovers as the sun returns. Admire the colorful flower beds, sit on a bench to read, or simply take in the sights and sounds of Parisian life.

Not far away, Parc Georges Brassens comes alive with the bloom of spring. This former slaughterhouse site now offers a tranquil atmosphere with rose gardens, urban vines, and shaded corners. Children play in the playgrounds, strollers snap photos of the cherry blossoms, and couples find grassy spots to share a quiet moment together.

Finally, the Petite Ceinture Promenade—a former railway line converted into a walking path—is ideal for a peaceful nature walk right in the city. Surrounded by blossoming trees and far from the urban bustle, you’ll almost forget you’re in Paris.

Markets and sunny terraces

There’s nothing like a stroll through the Rue Lecourbe Market or Convention Market to savor the seasonal produce. From fresh fruit stands to colorful flowers and local artisans, it’s a sensory and convivial experience. Afterward, settle in at a sunny terrace café for a coffee or light lunch. The neighborhood is full of charming cafés with bucolic terraces, perfect for a well-deserved springtime break.

Just steps from the hotel: iconic Paris, spring edition

The Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars in bloom

Staying at Hôtel Bleu de Grenelle puts you just minutes from the Eiffel Tower, its silhouette striking against the spring sky. The Champ de Mars, with its wide lawns and tree-lined walkways, becomes a lively gathering spot. People picnic, play, and photograph the cherry blossoms with the Iron Lady as a backdrop. At golden hour, it’s simply magical.

A cruise on the Seine

Spring is also the perfect season for a Seine River cruise. Whether on a tourist boat or a private barge, drifting along the water offers a stress-free way to admire Paris from a new perspective—accompanied by birdsong and the flow of the river. Day cruises offer stunning monument views, while sunset cruises bathe the city in unforgettable romantic hues.

Strolling along the Seine banks

From the hotel, you can easily reach the banks of the Seine for a gentle walk. Follow the river to discover the Invalides, Pont Alexandre III, or even the Musée d'Orsay. The atmosphere is relaxed, terraces bloom, cyclists pass pedestrians… A springtime walk along the Seine is truly one of the season’s must-do experiences.

Events not to miss from your springtime itinerary.

Paris’s most beautiful gardens in spring

The Luxembourg Gardens, the Jardin des Plantes, and Parc André Citroën (just near the hotel) are among the best places to witness nature’s return to the city. Wander among fragrant paths, admire floral arrangements, or simply unwind on a lounge chair. For flower lovers, it’s paradise!

If the skies turn gray or you’re looking for something different, head to the Serres d’Auteuil for an immersion in lush plant life. You can also visit the rose garden at the Jardin des Plantes or discover the secret gardens of the Zadkine Museum—a little-known gem ideal for a poetic escape. These botanical and cultural outings offer a different view of spring in Paris.

Rent a bike for a bucolic escape

Feeling active? Rent a bike nearby (or ask reception for tips) and head out along the cycle paths to the Bois de Boulogne or Parc de Saint-Cloud. These vast green spaces are ideal for a peaceful outdoor escape, with views of the Seine, birdsong, and welcome shade beneath the trees.
